In 2024, the reinsurance premium revenue totaled NTD 5.11 billion, up by 9.72% when compared to last year’s NTD 4.66 billion mainly because of the number of policy in-force in 2024 was higher than expected. Additionally, in previous years, premiums written from October to December that became effective in the following year were recorded as advance receipts and recognized as reinsurance income in January of the next year before being allocated to the co-insurance arrangement. However, to facilitate the parallel operation of IFRS 17 starting in 2025, premiums written from October to December 2024 that become effective in the following year have been adjusted to recognize reinsurance income in the month of policy issuance. As a result, reinsurance income for the current year has increased. Moreover, interest income increased as various reserves accumulated, and the NTD455 million paid as claims for the Hualien Earthquake have been recovered and listed as other revenue. In summary, the total revenue of TREIF for 2024 amounted to NTD 6.27billion, by 19.01% from previous year.
