TREIF Income
The main income of TREIF(Taiwan Residential Earthquake Insurance Fund) comes from pure risk premium allotments and management fees for doing National Residential Earthquake Insurance Program business. Total income of TREIF for 2007 was NT$2.15 billon,an increase of 28% over the preceding year. |

TREIF Special Reserve Accumulation
Under TREIF management rules, at the end of each year, all income received from official operation after operational costs and operating capital should be withheld as a special reserve, which shall be used only to indemnify residential earthquake insurance claims. TREIF's special accumulated reserve totalled NT$6.07bn at the year-end of 2007, representing a substantial increase of 38.61% over NT$4.38 billion at year-end of 2006. |

TREIF Investment portfolio
TREIF shall manage its special reserve with the most prudent care, aiming at both minimizing investment risk and maximizing investment profitability. As at 2007, TREIF's available fund has accumulated to NT$5.82 billion, which was invested in the money market as bank deposits, bond RP, government bonds and bank debenture with average investment yield at 2.27% |
